More Mabis Products

October 29th, 2007 by Duane, Product Specialist

5 new blood pressure monitors will be added to our long list of Mabis products.

Model 04-340-000 comes equipped with Digital Technology, and a one-size fits all MABIS wide-range cuff. As the monitor detects the movement through the artery in your arm, it converts it into an easy to view digital reading. The wide-range cuff fits arm sizes 8 5/8″ - 18″.

The 04-342-000 and 04-346-000 are fully automatic, and feature the SmartRead Plus Technology. The SmartRead Plus Technology allows the cuff to inflate to a determined level with the press of a button. After inflation, the monitor will read and sense the amount of pressure in the cuff, to make sure that it is appropriate for you.

The Mabis SmartSpeed 04-330-001 and 04-330-006 has a unique storage compartment built right into the meter. This allows you to neatly store your cuff after use, right into the monitor itself!

On top of adding blood pressure monitors, we will now be carrying digital thermometers. The Mabis Jumbo Display Digital Thermometer has a bigger screen so that people with vision problems will be able to read their results. The Flexible Digital Thermometer gives readings in just 9 seconds, while the Mabis Ear Thermometer works in only 1 second.

Successful ADA Walk to Fight Diabetes

October 29th, 2007 by Chris - Customer Relations

The American Diabetes Association’s Step Out to Fight Diabetes walk in Fort Lauderdale this past weekend was very successful.

American Diabetes Wholesale’s team of walkers had a lot of fun walking the course for such a great cause. As a company we donated nearly $2,000 to just this walk alone. The weather report wasn’t very promising for the event, but it turned out to be a little cloudy, but fortunately, no rain.

ADW at the ADA Walk

There were a lot of walkers who came over to our table thanking us for being there for people without insurance. There were also people who did not have insurance who expressed their enthusiasm to find out there was a company out there to help them.

Thanks to the ADA for such a wonderful, well planned event!

Test Strips Tip: Ensure Compatibility with Your Glucose Monitor!

October 26th, 2007 by Eric - Customer Relations

Besides your glucose meter, diabetic test strips are the most important diabetic supplies you will need in monitoring your blood glucose levels accurately. There are a great variety of diabetic test strips on the market, and those new to diabetes might not be aware that it is necessary to purchase glucose test strips that are compatible with your specific glucose monitor.

Let’s take a quick look at Ascensia. They manufacture some of the most popular brands of blood glucose meters and testing strips on the market. Even in this case, you need to know which model of monitor you have, and order the strips manufactured specifically for that particular meter. For example, The Ascensia Breeze glucose test strips are NOT compatible with the Ascensia Contour glucose monitor, even though they come from the same manufacturer.

On the American Diabetes Wholesale website, you will find detailed product descriptions for meter compatibility, so you can ensure you are making the right selection for your order. Don’t forget that many of the brands carry quantity discounts when you purchase multiple boxes of test strips! See each test strip’s description online for more details and potential savings.

American Diabetes Wholesale at the ADA Walk

October 22nd, 2007 by Chris - Customer Relations

On Saturday October 20, 2007 American Diabetes Wholesale volunteered at the ADA’s Step Out walk in West Palm Beach, FL. Approximately 300-400 people showed up to walk and show their support for the fight against Diabetes. Early in the morning it was raining, but that did not stop the dedicated volunteers in setting up the vendor tables and water stations.

Some volunteers were there at 3:00 a.m. to start the setup. This is a prime example of how dedicated people are to finding a cure for Diabetes.

Next up is the walk in Fort Lauderdale on October 27. ADW will have a team of walkers at this event.

The online community was started after the creator, Christopher Thomas, was diagnosed with Diabetes in May of 2007. Chris created the non-profit organization in order to give back to charities.

On November 14th, which is World Diabetes Day, Chris will be organizing the USA Rock Against Diabetes concert. It will feature several bands, with benefits going to the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center.
