This week’s edition of the American Diabetes Wholesale Newsletter features a great article by nutrition expert, Marlene Koch that discusses the benefits of fiber for diabetics. Her article “Fabulous Fiber: Benefits for Diabetes and General Health” covers a lot of ground including: the differences between soluble and insoluble fiber (or ‘roughage), how including more fiber in your diet can facilitate weight loss and how to “fiber-ize” your diet for long term health benefits!
Marlene is a well-known author of diabetic recipe cookbooks and was kind enough to include a special recipe for these chilly winter mornings, Wholesome Blueberry Pancakes, which are naturally high in fiber and in flavor, too!
Don’t forget that we are still accepting your votes for the Diabetes Educator of the Year for 2008 until March 20, 2009. Why not take a moment to stop by the voting page and cast your vote for one of the dedicated professionals that give so much every single day in the fight against diabetes?
