ADW's Diabetic Coverage Auto Order Program

American Diabetes Wholesale Supports Mr. Diabetes

December 24th, 2008 by Chris - Executive

On December 14th the American Diabetes Wholesale team traveled to Sarasota to help support Mr Diabetes and the Defeat Diabetes Foundation. The local community of Sarasota had a festival and ceremony to honor Andy Mandell for his 8 years of dedication to help people with diabetes.

The Festival was a unique event under the PAL Sailor Circus Big Top in downtown Sarasota for his HOME STRETCH of The Walk - a 10,000+ journey of the U.S. perimeter by “Mr. Diabetes” - a 62 year old Type 2 Diabetic. The PAL Sailor Circus was filed with many organizations and hundreds of local residents joined us to get more information on diabetes and to show their support for the Defeat diabetes Foundation.

Here was the schedule of demonstrations and events:
10:10 Bethseba’s Goddesses
11:00 Opening Ceremony - Grand Entrance of Mr. Diabetes®
11:30 Zumba Fitness Dance by Maurina Meissner & Linda Roman
12:00 Spotlight Kids
12:30 Kick Boxing Demonstration by HealthPlex
12:50 Boxing / Jump Rope Clinic by Tony Spain
1:15 Yogini to Go! by Malika Shay
1:50 Sarasota Family YMCA Dance Team
2:10 Boxing / Jump Rope Clinic by Tony Spain

It was an honor to be in Sarasota to meet Andy and I am proud of the hard work the Defeat Diabetes team is doing in this fight against diabetes. Our team admires Mr. Diabetes(R) and his tireless effort and programs that have helped increase awareness about pre-diabetes, prevention and diabetes self management.

American Diabetes Wholesale Helps During Economic Crisis

November 2nd, 2008 by Chris - Executive

Over the past several months, we’ve all been affected by the declines of the real estate and stock markets, but before this economic turmoil started American Diabetes Wholesale was helping people get their much needed diabetes supplies. Although there is not much one company can do to change the current economic condition, I say with confidence our team at American Diabetes Wholesale is committed to make sure everyone continues to have access to affordable medical supplies.

Last week our company was featured on our local CBS 4 News in a segment titled “Getting Your Money’s Worth for Prescription Drugs.” This story gave many good tips on how to save during these hard economic times, and also highlighted several prescription assistance programs to help individuals get the medications they need. You will hear first hand from one of ADW’s valued customers on how he was able to save thousands on his medical supplies.

During these challenging times, it is difficult for many people to afford all of their medical supplies and prescription medications. ADW will continue to serve the needs of everyone we can by keeping diabetes management affordable.

Diabetes Educator of the Year Contest Nomination Period Ending Soon!

October 17th, 2008 by Eric - Customer Relations

As we quickly approach our November 7th deadline for the second-annual Diabetes Educator of the Year Contest, we want to encourage you to tell us about an inspirational healthcare professional you know who is dedicated to fighting diabetes, and has made a difference in your life, or in the life of a loved one.

At ADW, we have set out to pay tribute to these educators, which include certified diabetes educators, nurses, and physicians, who consistently show compassion and an unfaltering commitment to their work, patients, and diabetes community. If you have someone that you think deserves to be the 2008 Diabetes Educator of the Year, we’d love to hear from you!

The nomination process is easy - just visit www.AmericanDiabetesWholesale.com/Contest and fill out the required information. Our winner will be flown in for a two-night, three-day stay at one of South Florida’s most beautiful resorts, the Boca Raton Resort & Club. He or she will also be honored in a special ceremony coordinated by all of us here at ADW, together with our local diabetes advocate partners.

Last year’s winner, Barbara J. Odom, RN, PHN, M.ED is an extraordinary example of the loyalty and devotion that we at American Diabetes Wholesale so admire. She is U.S. Navy Veteran, a registered nurse of 36 years and has been a certified diabetes educator since 1985. Since retiring from the Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare System in June 2001, she has worked independently and volunteered her time in the San Diego Community and throughout the country. She is motivated by her love of nursing, teaching and helping others. She facilitates a monthly support group in Southeast San Diego, does workshop presentations on diabetes and other health concerns at churches, community groups and health fairs.

Help us continue to recognize those who are making a difference - go to www.AmericanDiabetesWholesale.com/Contest before November 7th and tell us about that special person who you think should be the 2008 Diabetes Educator of the Year!

Thank you again for all your support; we couldn’t continue to do this without you. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have, and we look forward to hearing about the exceptional diabetes educator in your life!

All the best,
