Last Friday, American Diabetes Wholesale honored the winner of ADW’s Diabetes Educator of the year 2007 - Barbara Odom. We had a ceremony at our office with a few key speakers and some of Barbara’s family members. This was a great day for ADW as we rewarded Barbara for all her hard work. Barbara Odom is a truly amazing individual who is dedicated to her profession and to her patients. As the winner, she received a free two night stay at the luxurious Boca Resort and Spa.
American Diabetes Wholesale’s Diabetes Educator of the Year contest was created to honor and reward these healthcare professionals who are on the front lines helping in the fight against diabetes. Due to the great success of the first ever Diabetes Educator of the Year contest, our company has decided to make this an annual event. We understand the import role these educators play and we are hoping to have an even bigger event next year!
Congratulations Barbara – ADW is proud and honored to have you named our first ever Diabetes Educator of the Year!

Well, I think it has been settled where my next place of living is going to be. A nice 2 story, 2 master bedrooms, and 2.5 baths, for only $1,100 a month. It all sounds good to me. Life has been crazy busy lately, so I haven’t really been able to post anything on here. Also, nothing exciting has been going on either. I do have an exciting night tonight of going looking for silver heels for my girlfriend for this weekend since we are going to Orlando for her birthday. I mentioned earlier in a post about not being able to tell anybody what I was planning because it was a surprise, but I told her so now I can tell all of you.
I am taking her to Orlando to go to Cirque du Soleil and then to Pleasure Island afterwords for when she turns 21 at midnight. The next day we will be going to Magic Kingdom and spend the day with the Princesses, since that is what she is.
Well, I must finish up some things before I head out of the office. Have a great day everybody!

My next A1C visit is not for another month and a half, but I actually feel pretty confident about this one now. Other then all the highs in the morning, there haven’t been too many during the day, so I think I will hit my record low, which shouldn’t be too hard to beat because I think the record low is right around 7.3, nothing to brag about. I am still working that morning low, but man is it taking forever to figure out. I don’t have good sleep patterns, so it is tough to test at 3 a.m., because some nights I’m not going to bed until then, so I probably ate something after midnight, then some nights I fall asleep earlier and haven’t eaten. So, everything varies way too much.
This weekend I am going back out to look at some more new potential places to live. Last week I went looking for individual home, but this week I am looking at more townhouses, condos and apartment complexes. I am going with my actual roomate this weekend instead of just my girlfriend (who is my roomate’s sister), weird huh? He’s not really ready to sign into a lease, but I know we need to soon because our move in date is mid-August, and these nice places will be rented out right away.
Well, no fun plans for me this weekend, although my girlfriend may be getting a new tattoo, so I guess that makes it exciting for me also! What are all of your feelings on diabetics and tattoos, I have heard its not good for you, but then again I know some diabetics all tatted up! I’m thinking about a Philadelphia Eagles tat.

Usually when I am pissed or in a bad mood my sugar goes really high, but today it has been running a little low which isn’t a bad thing. But what put me in this mood is. I went to my car to go to work, it decided not to start. Finally after about 30 minutes it started up, and I come to find out that my head gasket is blown!
This isn’t an easy fix for anybody who doesn’t know about cars, and it’s not very cheap either. Especially when you want to buy a new car within the next 6 months anyway. Like I need something else affecting my blood sugar levels! Stress, stress, stress, you gotta love it.!
Well, just another day in the life of a diabetic!

Well another Monday, so another day of bowling and blogging. And a million other things with only enough time to do a few of them. First, we MUST win bowling tonight, if not then we must be prepared to make the greatest come back in bowling league history. I think my girlfriend’s younger brother will be substituting tonight for his mom since her and my girlfriend both got tattoos over the weekend.
Next, my roommate and I went looking for places this weekend, and I think we found a place that is great and I am ready to sign a lease, but I don’t know if he is, so we are taking the chance that when he is ready, it will already be gone.
This morning when I went to Dunkin Donuts I overheard the word diabetic, so I kept my ears open and started to listen. There were 2 older gentleman who I heard state that they were diabetic, and there was a younger kid who was on a pump and was describing to them exactly how the pump worked. I was really tired and didn’t have any coffee in me yet so I didn’t decide to join in on the discussion.
Well, I need to end today’s post now, no tears, please, seriously, no tears!
