August 6-9, 2008 are approaching fast. These are the days of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) annual meeting in Washington D.C. This conference provides educational and networking opportunities for diabetes educators. American Diabetes Wholesale is excited to be attending the show again this year. Last year’s conference in St. Louis was a great success!

With nearly 400 visitors, ADW’s booth was frequented often, especially from the educators who were interested in the patients that ADW’s focus is on, the uninsured, underinsured and anybody paying out of pocket for their supplies.

Part of our mission here at ADW is to help everyone who is affected by diabetes…you do not have to be diagnosed with diabetes to be affected by this disease – friends, family members, team mates, co-workers ect…

Not only are we a great resource for low cost diabetic supplies, we are working hard to make sure we provide other resources outside of diabetic supplies. Some of our resources include our weekly informational newsletters, our diabetic forum, and our well trained staff.

This week we launched our “Share your Story” campaign. We’ve had many great responses and we are hoping to publish some on our website soon. Our goal is to give others who may be living with diabetes the comfort that they are not alone, but we are all in this together. Many of the stories came in with tips and suggestions. . .where can you get better advice than the people who are walking in your shoes?

Well, tonight begins the new season of the Monday Night Miller Lite League. So my new blog title will be Bowling and Blogging Monday, instead of Friday’s as before. My goal, other then winning and bowling well every week is to keep the blood sugars lower then my bowling average. Also, with the diet I can not be snacking and picking at chips and salsa every week like I was before. I cheated big time on my diet this weekend, but oh well. I went to Smokey Bones, if you don’t know it, greatest ribs in the world!

So, I went to see the Indiana Jones movie on Friday also, screw what the critics say, that movie was great. It was a little different then the other’s with the aliens and all, but it was great. The movie theatre is actually the best place to get a low, because there is so much bad food you want to be eating anyway, so I just tear up all the candy and nachos and cheese, it’s not healthy, but it is great.

Not much new in the diabetes part of my life, same ole’ same ole’.

But life goes on, with the Life of a Diabetic!
