ADW Adds Gift Baskets

American Diabetes Wholesale’s 2nd Annual Diabetes Educator of the Year Contest

Have you ever left your diabetes educator’s office thinking, “I just wish there was something I could do to show them how much I appreciate them?”  Well American Diabetes Wholesale has the answer to that question.  With ADW’s second annual Diabetes Educator of the Year contest, you can nominate your educator to become the 2008 Diabetes Educator of the Year award winner!

It is very easy to do.  In just 250 words or less, tell us why you feel that your educator deserves this award.  You can submit a nomination from August 7, 2008 - November 7, 2008.  Once all submissions are in, a panel of judges will then pick 5 finalists that will appear on our website for final voting.  After all voting is over, the winner will receive a 2 night / 3 day stay at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, FL.

American Diabetes Wholesale Launches Destination Diabetes

The American Diabetes Association estimates that 20.8 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes and of that number, 6.2 million are unaware that they have the disease. To assist in the education of people living with diabetes, American Diabetes Wholesale, a discount provider of diabetic supplies to individuals without insurance, underinsured or paying out of pocket, will be launching Destination Diabetes™, a free information portal that provides credible and useful information on a variety of health and wellness topics ranging from articles on diabetes management to diabetes friendly recipes and food lists. To assist in the site launch on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, Marlene Koch, RD, best-selling author, professional cooking instructor and nutrition educator, will be available to answer questions via live chat from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (EDT). The first 50 people who sign on will receive a free copy of her new cookbook, Marlene Koch’s Sensational Splenda Recipes: 375 Recipes Low in Sugar, Fat and Calories, and Marlene will also be giving away two 30-minute consultation sessions where she will share her secrets to bridging the gap between good food and good health.

ADW Recieves Certificate at JDRF Appreciation Dinner

The  Greater Palm Beach County Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) held their annual Appreciation and Awards Ceremony on Tuesday June 17, 2008.  This event took place on a Florida Cruise boat that went along the intracoastal waterway in Delray Beach, FL.  ADW was honored to have received an invite and also receive a certificate from the JDRF.

ADW’s team had donate over $2,000 back in March for the Boca Raton walk.  American Diabetes Wholesale will also be supporting the JDRF and the Boynton Beach Firefighter Benevolent Association’s Charity Golf Tournament on October 18, 2008 at the Cypress Creek Country Club.

ADW Newsletter: Maintaining Proper Nutrition, June 4, 2008

People with diabetes are recommended to use the Diabetes Food Pyramid to model their diet after. It is also important to include proper multivitamins and supplements in your daily diet routine to enhance your health. AADE 2008 Trade Show Approaching for ADW

August 6-9, 2008 are approaching fast. These are the days of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) annual meeting in Washington D.C. This conference provides educational and networking opportunities for diabetes educators. American Diabetes Wholesale is excited to be attending the show again this year. Last year’s conference in St. Louis was a great success!

With nearly 400 visitors, ADW’s booth was frequented often, especially from the educators who were interested in the patients that ADW’s focus is on, the uninsured, underinsured and anybody paying out of pocket for their supplies.
