What a weekend! I spent all day yesterday cleaning up the apartment because my family is coming to visit this Friday. Thank goodness its Bowling and Blogging Monday! Friday night I went out to dinner with my girlfriend and then did nothing at all. Same thing Saturday, what a fun, fun weekend. I watched a National Lampoon’s movie on Saturday about a national grocery bagging competition, it was funny at times, but also boring at others.
There is only 3 more weeks of bowling left. Last week, we bowled bad again, and we had a chance to move up to 4-5 place, and then we could have taken down the top teams, but tonight we definetly have our work cut out for us. The sugar levels have been lower then the bowling scores, which is great because I haven’t been bowling that well in this league.
Thanks to those who gave me feedback about the A1C kits and the magazines that they like.

First, thank you for those that left me messages in regards to my insurance issues. I guess I am in for a long fight to try to survive. I guess all I really need is to have them cover doctors visits because luckily I have access to supplies, theres a reason this company’s logo is on my blog, they are keeping me alive! I have some other things that I need to take care of that are more immediate then the insurance, so I will keep you all updated when I get back that battle.
On a better note, we kicked butt last night in the bowling league. We took all 7 points. We were bowling against the team that I hated the most so I was so glad that we took all 7. We were in dead last 2 weeks ago, and we said we were going to make the greatest come back on bowling league history, and we have moved up 13 spots in 2 weeks to 11th place.
My parents will be coming down here for my graduation in about 2 1/2 weeks. So, I will have the whole week off of work and be able to spend some good time with mom, dad, brother, and sister-in-law. I still haven’t really said that too much, even though they have been married since November. I don’t really get a chance to talk to either one of them since I live in Florida now and they are still in PA. I talked to one of my best friends from high school the other day, and I said I will keep in touch more often because I really do miss talking to all the guys and the rest of my family. I need to dedicate one day to call all of them.
Well, I need to get back to work for a little.

This is week 6 of the Miller Lite Fun league, and so far it has been no far at all, being whooped every week. This weekend was a crazy one. Witnessed two fights on Friday at the bar we were at by the beach waiting for the fireworks. The fireworks sparked by people on the patio bar were better then real fireworks. Two different fights right next to us broke out and and security came and had to break things up. It was great. Drunk kids, I tell ya, dress ‘em up but ya can’t take them out!
Anyway, my parents will be coming down here in less than a month, along with my brother and his wife. They will be coming down for my graduation. I can’t wait to just get that over with, if it was up to me I wouldn’t even walk, I am just doing it for my mom. I need to make sure I have some skittles or some other candy with me to make sure that I don’t get a really bad low in the middle of the ceremony. That would not be good.
My morning sugars are still really out of whack and it is really starting to scare me. I can’t get these down for anything, and it is becoming a bad situation. I am happy when I wake up with a blood sugar between 200-300! This is ridiculous, but I have tried so many different things.
Any suggestions, please help!

Well another Monday, so another day of bowling and blogging. And a million other things with only enough time to do a few of them. First, we MUST win bowling tonight, if not then we must be prepared to make the greatest come back in bowling league history. I think my girlfriend’s younger brother will be substituting tonight for his mom since her and my girlfriend both got tattoos over the weekend.
Next, my roommate and I went looking for places this weekend, and I think we found a place that is great and I am ready to sign a lease, but I don’t know if he is, so we are taking the chance that when he is ready, it will already be gone.
This morning when I went to Dunkin Donuts I overheard the word diabetic, so I kept my ears open and started to listen. There were 2 older gentleman who I heard state that they were diabetic, and there was a younger kid who was on a pump and was describing to them exactly how the pump worked. I was really tired and didn’t have any coffee in me yet so I didn’t decide to join in on the discussion.
Well, I need to end today’s post now, no tears, please, seriously, no tears!

Well another Monday, so another week of bowling. If we perform the way that we did last week I will be extremely mad. I went over the weekend, I think it was Saturday night and bowled a few games with my girlfriend, she beat me once straight up and then she beat me with the handicap that I gave her.
I had some highs over the weekend that I wasn’t too happy about. Friday night was bad. I wanted to grab a McFlurry quickly, but it was midnight and service in south Florida sucks to begin with, but when you go that late, it’s 100 times worse. So my girlfriend and I decided to go to Sonic. Of course I had to get a chili dog because they were only a dollar, plus I had some Sonic ice cream type thing. My sugar went sky high, my tubing was cracked again and it was leaking, what a surprise.
Well, I must get back to work. Have a great week everybody!

Another Monday, another day of blogging and bowling. My life has been pretty boring as of late so there hasn’t been many things to blog about, that is why I didn’t blog last Friday. I had nothing exciting to talk about and I didn’t want to bore anybody and waste their time. I lost a vial of insulin and it really makes me mad. Last Thursday I took it to work and I know I put it in my shorts when I left to go home. I looked for it this weekend, couldn’t find it, so I thought, “Hmmm….I probably left it at work.” Nope, its not here either, so now I have no clue what so ever where it is, and it still had two refills left.
Well, what are you going to do, crying about it won’t help anything. Bowling is going to be intense tonight because all the other teams suck, and since our averages are so high, we could be the worst team because of the handicaps. I don’t like losing!
Well, sorry this is so short, but it is Monday, so there is work to be done!

Well, tonight begins the new season of the Monday Night Miller Lite League. So my new blog title will be Bowling and Blogging Monday, instead of Friday’s as before. My goal, other then winning and bowling well every week is to keep the blood sugars lower then my bowling average. Also, with the diet I can not be snacking and picking at chips and salsa every week like I was before. I cheated big time on my diet this weekend, but oh well. I went to Smokey Bones, if you don’t know it, greatest ribs in the world!
So, I went to see the Indiana Jones movie on Friday also, screw what the critics say, that movie was great. It was a little different then the other’s with the aliens and all, but it was great. The movie theatre is actually the best place to get a low, because there is so much bad food you want to be eating anyway, so I just tear up all the candy and nachos and cheese, it’s not healthy, but it is great.
Not much new in the diabetes part of my life, same ole’ same ole’.
But life goes on, with the Life of a Diabetic!

First, thank you to Kathy and George for your thoughts on the new tv show I would like to develop. I honestly think there could be some sort of show made like this, and then profits go to a charitable organization. It would raise a lot of money and spread a lot of awareness about Diabetes and some myths that go along with it.
Next, I’m sorry to say but no more bowling and blogging Friday’s, at least not for now, I think the summer league starts up in about 3-4 weeks, but I don’t know if I am joining it. It is $1 Miller Lite drafts during the league, which thats worth the money by itself. This week, I am choosing to call it, Studying and Blogging Friday…and Saturday and Sunday. It is all I will be doing all weekend long.
Also, it is time to do my diabetes inventory. My parents are coming down in a week, and a lot of my extra supplies get shipped up there still, so I need to do a nice count to see what I need them to bring down to me. This is always fun (sarcasm) counting how many strips, lancets, pen needles, infusion sets, reservoirs, insulin, insulin pens, and also their expiration dates.
See you all on Monday, have a great weekend!

Tonight is the final night of bowling. Last week since I went camping we bowled on Sunday, and we weren’t bowling against anybody so we did bad, and I think the best that we can finish is 2nd place. Which may sound good, but anything less then first is not good enough. In my eyes, 2nd is just the same as 3rd. 2nd and 3rd place teams lose the same amount of games.
Anyway, back to the diabetes. My girlfriend and I had a talk the other night about diabetes complications. She gets very upset when she hears something about someone dying from diabetes or some type of complication involved in it. It is tough to explain to her the different complications and see the look on her face during the whole thing. This conversation made me say to myself, ok you need to get more serious about losing weight, managing your diabetes, and eating correctly again. Then, I test my blood sugar last night before bed and it is 376. So I correct, and then wake up at 5:30 in the morning, sweating, shaking, and dizzy with a blood sugar of 50. All over the map.
Well on the brighter side of things, its the weekend!!!! Oh wait, whats so bright about that, its not the weekend to me, it’s “lets spend all weekend reading and studying because finals start in a week and I need to pass so I can graduate”

It’s Friday again, time for a little bowling and blogging. I set up my brand new fish tank this week with 8 new fish. The water is still a little cloudy, but then again so is my head. Last weeks bowling was not that great, but then again I didn’t bowl the week before, so I was out of my flow. I had one good game of 179, which was higher then my blood sugar of 119, getting better.
I just signed up for my final class in order to graduate. One final online class in the first half of the summer and then I walk down and get my degree, and by the way start studying for the GMAT.
I am getting low on my pump supplies. I opened up my last box of my resevoirs, and I thought I had another package coming, but somehow the automatic shipment was on hold, so luckily I called to find out when my next shipment will be sent. I have about 3-4 reservoirs left to last me until April 14th. I should be fine, since I am “dieting” and I’m not using as much insulin as I did when I was eating 8 tacos from Taco Bell or 5 burgers from Checkers.
It has been beautiful all week long, so I want to go to the beach this weekend, but lets see, any takers that it is going to rain alll damn weekend so I can’t go to the beach? I’ll let you know how it went on Monday.
