Back from Vacation
July 10th, 2007 by Chris SA week back at home in good ole’ Pennsylvania. Traveling with diabetes can be frustrating for me at times, especially at the airport. I tend to get my carry on bag checked just about everytime because of the insulin that I have in it. Also, 90% of the time my pump sets off the metal detector. But it doesn’t bother me, it makes me feel more safe knowing that they are doing their job.
Well, I took my girlfriend to Hershey Park, and being surrounded by all the chocolate was very very tempting. My pump got a lot of work and I used a lot of insulin that day, but when in Rome…
Going back home for a week when I am away for months at a time, I usually over eat on the home cooked meals and the local burger spots and tend to not eat according to my diabetic meal plan, but I didn’t have too many highs while I was home. But now it is back to work and school and managing the blood sugars a lot closer now.
Also, today begins the journey of losing 20 pounds by November. Stick with me and help give me the motivation I will need to lose it, and believe me, I will need the motivation.
