Finally a chance to blog…

January 21st, 2008 by Chris S

January 7, 2008, the date of my last post.  That is horrible, and I apologize I haven’t updated you on my boring, although extremely busy life.  To sum it all up, 40 hours of work, plus 5 classes, sound like I have any time to sleep, eat, or even breathe?  But one thing that I do have time to do, which is what I am the most proud of, I am continuing to test my sugars at least 5 times a day.  When I was this busy in the past, I never took the time to test.

I feel very out of the loop, I need to take some time to catch up on all my other fellow d-bloggers.  I’m going to take this time now to start reading, but for those very few who did enjoy my daily posts, they will be back

Weight Loss and Excercising is Painful

January 7th, 2008 by Chris S

I started my excercising back up again over the weekend to prepare for my new diet and weight loss program that starts today and I am sore as can be.  Saturday morning I played tennis for about a half hour, and it wasn’t even intense tennis.  It was just hitting the ball back and forth for maybe like one or two times and that is it.

Yesterday I played 2 on 2, two hand touch football for about a little over an hour and that has my body ached bad.  I feel like I just played a full game, plus overtime, of full contact football.

I need to work on my sleeping a little better, now I have work from 9-5 and class from 7-10, sounds fun doesn’t it?  I just can’t wait to be done with school.  The only good part is that I have been testing at least 7-8 times a day now.  I thought it was difficult to remember to, but it really isn’t that bad.  It’s easy to test at work, but then at home and school is when I start to not test as often as I should be.

Monday morning is now going to be a weekly weight update, so everybody can be anxious to see my weight on Monday morning like I do myself.  So this morning, Monday, January 7, 2008, I am weighing in at 226.  My goal, 195-200.  Wish me luck this week!

New Year Brings New Goals

January 2nd, 2008 by Chris S

This year I decided not to make any New Year’s resolution.  Honestly, whats the point?  Your not going to stick to it anyway.  I have set my mind to change some of my ways though.  (I know this is the samething as a resolution, but it just sounds better because I wont be breaking any type of resolution).  My BMI as of January 1, 2008 was 30.  In order to get to where it should be, I need to lose almost 60 pounds.  Thats just not healthy for me to weigh only 177, I haven’t weighed that since 7th grade.  I have never been overweight until the last 2 years, but I always weighed more because I did nothing but lift during my football days.

My goal is to get back into the shape and body figure I had when I did play football.  Running a mile 3 years ago was a joke, a mile, ha, I’ll run 4-5.  Now you say a mile, and I think, can I drive?  Since I moved to south Florida, I have golfed less than I did in Pennsylvania, well that is now going to change.  I have a pool, but I’ve swam it in twice in 4 months, so that will be added excercise.

So, my goal, 30 pounds, I will lose.  It will be very easy to lose 10 pounds in like 2-3 weeks, because there is just pounds there that go away over night.  I lost nearly 20 pounds in 2 months back in July, by cutting my calorie intake to 1,500 a day, but also burned 300-400 a day with excercising.  And I also had a lot more sleep, which is my problem right now.  Especially with school starting back up next semester, it is going to be hectic.

Blood sugar testing every hour, healthy food, weight loss, more excercising, lowering my A1C every month, gee I may be the only person in the world with these goals for 2008.
