Getting back to my bowling and blogging Friday’s, I believe this is number 3. I have missed 2 out of the last 4 Friday’s because I was out of town, but yet I still have to pay for my bowling. So last night, I ate chinese food for lunch and dinner and tested my sugar at midnight and it was 300, what a surprise. I corrected and woke up in the morning and my level was at 212, a little better then the last few days. I guess I just have to start waking up in the middle of the night again and test my sugar to see where the highs are starting or coming from.
Tomorrow is the local JDRF walk and after that, a day of nothing but school work. It has been beautiful all week long and then the weekend comes and it is rainy all weekend, isn’t that great? I don’t mind this weekend, because like I said I have a lot of schoolwork that I have to do.
Michigan State plays tonight, hopefully Monday’s blog title will read “Michigan State Spartans to the Final Four!”

I just have one question, how do you all find time to blog everyday? I know I’m not the only one who is extremely busy and doesn’t even have time to eat some days, but how do you manage to do it. I try to because it does calm the nerves and relieves the stress in the middle of the day. I’ve been a little worried about my blood sugar levels throughout the night because I just keep waking up with like 300 levels. I have tried so many damn things. Eating Taco Bell last night I know didn’t help.
Also, yesterday I was so busy at work that I totally forgot to eat lunch. I ate at 8:30, testing throughout the day. At about noon my level was 123, and then I didn’t test again until about 5, and without eating all day, my sugar went up to 230. I don’t know why my sugar goes up when I don’t eat, I always expect it to go the opposite way.
Our local JDRF walk is coming up this Saturday. It’s at the beautiful Mizner Park in Boca Raton, FL. If you’re in the area, please come out and join us, it should be fun! Please, you can support the fight for the cure!

So yesterday I met with my advisor and filled out the paperwork for graduation. I only have one more class left in the summer that I must take in order to graduate. Which my advisor said I would probably need an A to make my chances easier to get into grad school. Depending on my GMAT scores, if I dont’ get an A I can still get in.
I can’t imagine what my sugar levels are going to be like when I am studying for the GMAT. Also, the day of the GMAT. They will probably go really low, because they always do when I get nervous. I doubt other students would like me to pull out a meter and test myself in the middle of one of the most important tests that they have ever taken in their life.
I will be going back up to Orlando for another 1 day trip to see my nieces who are going to DisneyWorld for the very first time. I am very, very excited. Next week is the big A1C test though, so starting to get a little nervous for that.

Finally, it has taken almost a week to get my page back up and running. I don’t know what I did to it. I was trying to fix something and change some settings and I ended up screwing up the whole thing. I had to get the technical guys to try and help me out with it. I should leave the blog designing up to the professionals, and I will just type up new blogs.
Anyway, last Friday’s bowling had gone pretty well. My high game was a 179, not too bad. It was higher then my sugars finally. I had a fiesta taco salad before I bowled. Afterwards we went out for a friends birthday. It was a fun and exciting night, it ended at midnight though, so wasn’t too long of a night. I had a “Philly” cheesesteak, and I put that in quotes because these steaks down here are so generic and fake Philly’s. There is only one place that I can trully call a real Philly cheesesteak. Anyway, didn’t affect my sugars at all, which I was surprised because drinking and eating usually does.
I might be going away again tomorrow and Wednesday for two days on vacation. Hopefully it will all be good.

I still have not fully corrected my high blood sugar numbers in the morning. I do not know what else to do. I have taken everybody’s suggestions. I guess I will just continue to increase my basal throughout the night. Then today I had pancakes and sausage, and my sugar didn’t come down from 300 until around noon. In fact, I just reminded myself to test right now, please hold….124, not bad.
Anyway, I have been dieting a little bit, well eating less. I haven’t gone full blown into the excercising part of it yet. I do a little push ups and sit ups at night when I finally get home at 10 at night. I’m trying to get myself to start running in the morning, but its tough when I go to bed at 1:00 a.m. and get up at 6:30 a.m. I know I need to get more sleep, but I honestly don’t have time to. By the time I get home, I eat something, relax for a little, and then start my homework. Can’t wait to be done with school, it will make my health a lot better.

What a tiring weekend this was. I had gone up north to the Orlando area for work, and on the way home I had to stop in Orlando, near Universal Studios Theme Park because it was raining so hard and so windy, due to the tornado watches and warnings all over the place. Even though I was on a “vacation” for a day I was up at 7:00, because obviously I can’t miss the continental breakfast. Since I was there, on my way home I stopped at the Festival Bay Mall in order to go to Steve and Barry’s clothing store. I needed new Michigan State and Virginia Tech shirts, but they didn’t have any new MSU ones.
On the drive home I was thirsty, a lot, but didn’t have to go to the bathroom at all, so I thought that was odd. I tested my sugar throwout the day and I wasn’t high at all, nor was I low at all, right in the middle, perfect! Spring break is now officially over, and I have to type up a 4 page case study analysis tonight, and I’m still at work and haven’t started it yet.
Just a random thought for today, I am obsessed with Quizno’s Sammies, it is official. I have had them close to 100 times since their recent release. They need more flavors of them!

So later on today I will be heading out of town on a 4 hour drive up north towards Orlando for work. Packing has never been an issue with me nor has forgetting things while packing. However, ever since this diabetes thing came up, it made it a little more stressful. Maybe stressful isn’t the correct word to use, but it’s the best I can think of right now. Now I don’t really need to worry about how many pair of underwear, socks and jeans I have, I must worry about how many extra infusion sets and reservoirs I have.
When my girlfriend goes through and asks me different things that I may have packed and she asks if I’m sure I’m totally packed my answer always is, “I have my pump, my insulin, some infusion sets and reservoirs and my wallet, everything else I can buy.” Which, to an extent that is pretty much true. If I forgot shoes, no big deal I’ll buy a pair, but I don’t think I can just go to the infusion set store and pick out which ones look best on me.
Luckily, I don’t have to fly this time. Going through security never bothers me, even though my bagged is usually checked because they look at the infusion sets and the insulin, but I’m always early, so it does not affect me. However, once on the plane is when it gets nerve racking. Not including, the turbulence, and lifting off, and smashing against the ground while landing, it is the thought of getting a low blood sugar on the plane. I know there are plenty of treats and soda and juices to cure it, but then it draws unwanted attention, not to mention I will sweat tremendously and have to go the rest of the plane ride all sweaty.
No Blogging and Bowling Friday tomorrow either. I will attempt to, but for one, I will be at an event all day, plus I won’t be bowling being that I won’t be back in time to bowl.

I started working out again yesterday and attempting to eat better again. I did not even want to get out of bed. I was so sore it wasn’t even funny. Usually I don’t work on Tuesday’s because I have school during the day, but since we are on “spring break” I had to work. That is why I put spring break in quotes because I am still up at 7 a.m. every morning to go to work. I just want to go to the pool and relax and not worry about doing homework over spring break, which I have been doing all weekend and last night.
I woke up this morning and my blood sugar was 77, I tested again at around 10:00 and it was at around 100, then I just tested again and it was 140. I did not eat anything in the morning, and it still went up like that.
Well, I’ve put down 54 oz. of water so far today, and its not even noon. I will probably double that by the end of the day. I WILL lose weight this time, and keep it off. Well time to get back to work!

I am in the middle of remodeling my website and adding and deleting some features. In this process I will be updating my blogroll again. The last time I attempted to do this it was not very successful. I have been planning to make changes for a while, but have not had chances to.
Once again if you would like to be included on the blogroll, please just let me know and I should have it completed by the end of the week.
